I study how oxidative post translational modifications change extracellular matrix (ECM) mechanics and degradability, then direct cell behavior. My group uses ECM biomaterials eand precision cut tissue platforms to map ECM mechanics to cellular responses, with methods that may translate to craniofacial tissues for wound healing, scarring, and developmental matrix remodeling. We collaborate across engineering and clinical teams to connect mechanism to measurable biomarkers and therapeutic strategies.
